Wishing my readers a very Happy New Year, and including the lyrics to a song that many are familiar with as a New Year's Eve song.
Auld Lang Syne was
written by Robert Burns in 1788. The lyrics were set to the tune of a
traditional folk song. This song is often played/sung on New Year’s Eve, as a
way of ushering in the New Year. We remember friends (and family) of old and
how much they meant and mean to us.
Auld Lang Syne
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And auld lang syne!
For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne.
We'll take a cup o' kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.
